Olivier Giroud may be struggling to find the back of the net with Chelsea this season but he is having no problem landing roles in Hollywood films.Video: Four people try to cross the pure car bridge in a cardboard bus.
The striker has announced he will lend his voice to the Green Goblin in the French-speaking version of the upcoming animated Spider-Man film.
He will be joined by his Les Bleus team-mate and Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe, who takes on the role of Scorpion in the blockbuster.
Giroud and Kimpembe announced the news on social media, providing a boost to the film’s advertising ahead of its worldwide release on December 12.
The English version of the film is titled ‚Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘ and the French equivalent has been dubbed ‚Spider-Man: New Generation‘. The latest work from Marvel is expected to be a hit with kids over the Christmas period.
Once their time in the recording studio is done, Didier Deschamps will demanding the best from them as world champions France look to continue their good form by sealing their place in the Nations League final four.
France can do that by avoiding defeat against Holland, who they play in the Amsterdam Arena this Friday. That will be harder than it sounds, however, with strikers Anthony Martial and Alexandre Lacazette already dropping out due to injury.
That means Giroud, who has just one Europa League goal to show for his season so far, will have to find his goal-scoring boots. The 32-year-old is likely to start the game due to the aforementioned injury issues despite his questionable form.
Following the Nations League tie, France then have a big-ticket friendly against South American side Uruguay next week.
